The first ever MICS survey in El Salvador was conducted from March to September 2014. A total of 14,160 households were sampled, of which 12,507 were interviewed. In these households, 7,340 mothers of children under age five (or primary caretakers if mother is not living in the same household) were interviewed.

It covers over 120 indicators and gives insights on child mortality, breastfeeding, infant and young child feeding, low birth weight, vaccination, care for diarrhoea and symptoms of acute respiratory infections, water and sanitation, contraception, birth registration, child labour, child discipline, access to the media, use of information technology and much more.

El Salvador will conduct a MICS survey (MICS6) again in 2019.

Access the final report in Spanish here.  Datasets will be published shortly.
