As the second survey of the MICS GIS Initiative, aiming to make survey boundary shapefiles, GPS data (and more) conditionally available for MICS surveys, researchers can now obtain access to this data by writing to the micsunicef.org (MICS Team). In the email, researchers must provide details about the scope of their research. The data will be shared on signature of a "Conditions of Use" document, which will be provided by the MICS Team. The Conditions of Use include restrictions on sharing the data and requirements for citing any results, as well as sharing any publications with UNICEF and FBoS.
The release of the Fiji MICS 2021 spatial data package marks a significant milestone in the effort to make geographical data of MICS surveys readily available for research purposes in different disciplines. At the threshold of the launch of the seventh round of MICS and mainstreaming of GIS data in the MICS Programme, the availability of the Fiji MICS 2021 data holds great promise for the future of spatial data analysis on MICS surveys.
A spatial data package is also available for the Lao PDR MICS 2017, which was the very first pilot survey.
