The Qatar 2023 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) was carried out by the National Population Council (NPC) in partnership with UNICEF from June to August 2023. The survey explored critical indicators related to growth, reproductive health, maternal health, early pregnancy, prenatal and postnatal care and HIV awareness. They also comprehensively cover developments in child nutrition and education.

The survey included 6,000 households, yielding a remarkable 98 per cent response rate, which led to 17,104 interviews. This effort highlights Qatar’s dedication to producing high-quality, dependable data to guide policies and programmes, track advancement toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and promote greater equality for children and families.

Core objectives of the Qatar MICS 2023

  • Provide high-quality data to assess the situation of children, adolescents, women, men and households in Qatar.
  • Generate data to monitor progress and report on the country’s achievements toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Monitor progress on the multiple indicators produced in Qatar’s previous MICS conducted in 2012.
  • Contribute to the broader cooperation program between UNICEF and Qatar concerning children’s rights, including education, inclusion, child protection, health, skills building and gender equality.
