During the reception, which was attended by the UNICEF Board members and senior UNICEF staff, the MICS programme launched a number of special products to mark the occasion.
Of these, a new publication was released to chart the history of the first MICS surveys and the evolution of MICS from a modest technical support system to a full-fledged household survey programme. The publication also lays the groundwork for MICS within the 2030 sustainable development agenda and examines the future potential roles of MICS.
At the reception, participants saw the debut of a short video that summarizes the MICS programme and its contribution to country and global monitoring. To support the video, a special infographic was developed and displayed at the event.
